The level of microclimate comfort varies from one place to another place. On the other hand, urbanization phenomenon can affect climate change. This has an impact on human comfort in carrying out activities. The impact of urbanization and climate change also occur in areas of cultural heritage that need to be protected. Pasar Baru Bandung area is one of the cultural heritage areas used for in and out-of-town trade activities. The high level of trading activities and demand needs has made the area even more congested and uncomfortable for activities. Studies climate sensitive urban design (CSUD) in Indonesia itself, especially in Bandung, are still few and not optimal. Therefore, the aim of this study is to find an illustration of the application from the principle of climate sensitive urban design in order to create comfort by paying attention to cultural heritage aspects that need to be maintained. The method used to achieve the goal is a quantitative deductive research using Envi-Met software tools. The initial step in the study is to find the general principles relating to cultural preservation and microclimate, namely elements of urban morphology (preservation and urban geometry). The principles that has discovered then to be tested through some urban geometry simulation typologies. The results obtained from the simulation are very diverse, but in general the findings are preserve the cultural heritage of the area by maintaining the character of the area as chinese and european shopping area, applying the intensity of KDB 70% KLB 2.5 or 4.6 KDH 20%, the road orientation north-south with H/W 2 ratio, and the road orientation east-west with H/W ratio 0.67 & 1 to create micro-climate comfort. In other words, Pasar Pasar Baru Bandung as a cultural heritage that applies these principles can improve the quality of outdoor space for activities. text
