Low Salinity Waterflood (LSW) they said, as one of the solutions that come to solve some problems for example reservoir pressure decline that can lead to the declining of production. Yet, the status of LSW itself is frosted. Due to some factors such as reservoir characteristics including fluid characteristics and rock characteristics, LSW performance can be affected. Reservoir characteristics including reservoir temperature and pressure, fluid characteristics of brine i.e. salinity, pH, composition, and crude oil characteristics i.e. Acid-Based number, solvency, and rock characteristics especially clay existence about its type and its amount. Numerous Literature has been published with a relatively brief review. Therefore, in this study, several factors that might be able to affect LSW performance would be reviewed. The most affecting factor would be investigated. As the result, new insights based on a recent experimental study of LSW will also be presented. text
