Description
Summary:This design project is a cultural center project initiated by the North Sumatra Culture and Tourism Office and in collaboration with the Medan City Culture and Tourism Office. This design project is located on Jl. Turi, Teladan Barat, Medan Kota, Kota Medan, North Sumatra with an area of around 16,000 m2. This building has two main functions namely functions related to culture including production and showcase as well as functions related to the community including gathering, and carrying out joint activities. Associated with these functions, this building has several facilities such as a large theater, open theater, art studios, community spaces, multipurpose rooms, cafes, and others. The estimated floor area in space programming is around 10,200 m2 and in the form of a one-mass building with 2-3 floors. The concept of designing this project is "Creating a cultural space as a binding area to the surrounding social activities". The project is expected to become a center for social, artistic and cultural activities so that it can help develop the socio-cultural aspects of Medan City or even reach the scale of the Province of North Sumatra. In addition, this design is expected to help preserve the art and culture of North Sumatra by becoming a new means of replacing the Cultural Park of North Sumatra which has been deemed inappropriate and can be a successful cultural-themed tourist destination.
