A renewal is done upon the existing design without changing the nominal size already existing on the initial design. The renewal is constrained on adding size tolerance and geometrical tolerance. The geometrical tolerance being used on the new design follows the ASME Y14.5 2018 standard about Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) as a guide. By using the 2D drawing as a source, a new 3D model is created using software. The model is then designated as the primary source by adding Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) by using ASME Y14.41 standard as an example. Usage of Model Based Definition (MBD) can significantly reduce time consumed in making 2D drawing, shop drawing, and inspection drawing. Loop diagram is used in analysis to acquire the resulting geometrical error in the assembly. text |
