The quality of a product produced by a machine tool is determined by the accuracy and precision of the machine itself. The accuracy and precision can be affected if there are geometric errors on the machine tools. Each machine tool axis can experience geometric errors in the form of positioning errors, alignment errors and rotation / angle errors. This research is focused on alignment error in Z-axis direction of ACT Okuma-Howa CNC lathe. The Z-axis on this machine is the direction of movement of the carriage, with the positive direction being the direction away from the fixed head. The tolerance limit that has the most effect on z-axis movement is the flatness of the surface in several areas in the carriage and slanted bed. In addition, the existence of loads that cause bending moments can also interfere with the z-axis movement in the long term. In this research, the procedure to restore the quality of the machines used focuses on the rebuilding method. A rebuild is a thorough and thorough machine inspection of its original specifications without the need for new CNC controls. In this process, machine components are cleaned, inspected, and rearranged with new or repaired parts. This procedure can be used as a reference for repairing CNC machines in the PPTI FTMD ITB building. text |
