Summary: | Determining the physical properties of porous media such as rocks is very important to know their characteristics. Porous media characteristics such as the structure, fluid flow in pores, or other physical properties. One characteristic of a porous media is the complexity of the structure of the pore pathways. The difference in complexity of the pore path can affect other physical parameters such as permeability. The parameters that will be discussed in this study are the meandering parameter and its correlation with other porous media. Meandering parameter is used as a complexity scale, as the meandering parameter added deflection angle to the original tortuosity definition by Dougherty to make it dimensionless. In order to calculate meandering parameter , tracking the interconnected pore path is done geometrically using the neurite tracer method. After the exact path between entry and end-point is determined, neurite tracer can generate either the coordinates of the path and it can be used as input in meandering parameter program for further analysis. Futhermore, the results of the meandering parameter by tracking pore directly will be compared to the meandering parameter resulted by tracking on the skeleton of the pore path to determine the most appropriate representation of the pore path. Comparison between meandering parameters and other parameters such as porosity and permeability will also be determined to find the correlation between each parameter. |
