Summary:In the principle of external radiation, treatment planning cannot be achieved with 100% dose for the PTV (Planning Target Volume) and 0% radiation dose for healthy tissue because it is related to the location of the source and target of radiation and the characteristics of the human body that are not homogeneous. Available dose distribution with a percentage <95% of the prescribed dose (the specified dose) in the body that enters the area of radiation but outside the PTV which is called the dose splash. This research is focused on efforts to protect healthy tissue in the body of cervical cancer patients through a review of the dose splash. One of the fundamental challenges in radiotherapy is choosing the right energy in treatment planning to achieve high-quality health care. This study aims to study the effect of photon energy on the configuration of the radiation beam used in external radiation on the appearance of dose splash in the body that enters the radiation area of cervical cancer patients and test the results of the study statistically using Paired t-Test through IBM SPSS software Version 20. An evaluation for dosimetry parameters is HI, according to the calculation results. When HI is optimal (1-1.5), then the results planning is reviewed via DVH with review of 50%, 40%, 30%, 20% and 10% splash dose rates. An analysis of the extent of the dose splash range received by the patient's body is based on the results of planning with the energy configuration of the beam used. Through reviewing the dose splash, it can then lead to an evaluation of energy selection that has a better chance of being applied in cervical cancer radiotherapy.
