Summary:Rural banks have a critical role in the Indonesia economy. However, statistics showed that the Indonesia banking industry experienced a decline in the number of banks due to poor performance. To remain exist in the competitive banking industry, BPR DP TASPEN, one of the rural banks in Indonesia, must solve the problem of not motivated employees, which started by the decreasing of employee performance since 2018-2019. After the employees were interviewed, the company is known to never assess their employee motivation to work as a proper base to triggers them to perform maximum works. Alderfer ERG Theory used in this research to assess employees' motivation. Analyzed with multiple linear regression, the result showed that relatedness needs become the only significant needs that affect employee performance than others. BPR DP TASPEN was suggested to elaborate on the way they offer to the employees. The idea of different motivational strategies for various people could be in the form of customized compensation packages for employees. Therefore relatedness needs factors such as recognition and respect appear to be more powerful motivators of behavior in the workplace
