Summary:<b>Abstract :</b><p align=\"justify\">This thesis presents a method to consider network\'s topology changes for coordination of directional overcurrent relays. Method that has been existed, using linear approximation. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> The goals of research are formulated a method for relay coordination considering change in the network topology; and also formulated additional criteria to find minimum break point set (BPS) if there are more than one near-minimum BPS\'s. The first goal is achieved by using analysis of relay input quantity during topology changes. Conditions before and after the changes are used to determine the equations of real operation time, by utilized equation of relay operating characteristic. Whereas the second, additional criteria on selection minimum BPS, is respected to magnitude of short circuit current. <br /> <p align=\"justify\"> The application of proposed methods are presented in two power system models to test these methods. The results are indicate that proposed methods provide the output setting better than the former method.
