Description
Summary:Wae Rana Beach is one of the beaches that has undeveloped tourism potential. This beach is located on the west coast of Labuan Bajo City with an area of 3.8 hectares and has strategic access to local / environmental roads. This beach is also located in an area that is still classified as beautiful and far from densely populated settlements, so the leisure function is a suitable function to be developed because of its private location, away from noise, and large natural potential. Labuan Bajo as one of the areas that is predicted to be the 10 new Bali in Indonesia, is experiencing rapid development in the infrastructure sector, especially those that can support tourism number. Beach resorts are designed to be sustainable with this in mind, targeting domestic and foreign tourists who wish to seek restorative means, both individually and in groups. One of the design approaches used is Attention Restoration Theory. Based on Kaplan's Attention Restoration Theory, to provide a restorative effect, the natural environment must have an extent (the scope that immerses the user in the pleasures of nature), being away (providing an escape from habitual activities), soft fascination (environmental aspects that capture attention) , and compatibility (openness and appreciation for the natural environment). These aspects are then implemented in the form of a beach resort design that is oriented to the natural beauty of the coast and the landscape of the islands in the Wae Rana Beach area. The main issue raised in the design is the identity of the place, because this project aims to build a beach resort that has a different character from other buildings with similar functions. In addition, through local analysis, it was found that there were no resort buildings in Labuan Bajo with a large project scale that reflected the local architecture. The concept of geometry and spatial layout adopts a typical Manggarai traditional house, namely the traditional Mbaru Niang house and is covered with local materials in the form of bamboo, stone, and fibers as roof coverings. The main functions contained in the design of this beach resort include the functions of the front of the house (FOH), relaxation, recreation, f & b, back of the house (BOH), and residential functions. Residential in the form of villas are presented with 3 types, based on the number of guests accommodated. The total area built is 1.4 hectares with a guest capacity of 100 people. Supporting facilities provided include hall, bar & restaurant facilities, outdoor swimming pool, gallery and retail, fitness club, spa, and beach club. The circulation concept is designed to consider contoured land conditions and a universal design to accommodate users with disabilities. Therefore, the shape of the circulation route must be able to access the entire mass of the building efficiently, safely and privately. In addition, there is also access for guest transportation using a buggy car to facilitate mobility for both staff and guests.
