Description
Summary:Bandung City is one of the fairly populous cities in Indonesia with the number of inhabitant that reach 2.5 million based on the data from Central Bureau of Statistics in 2018. Consequently, the need for a space to live and trade has been a concern for the population in recent years. Limited land to build residential areas and places of trade could be a significant problem especially in the central, urban areas of Bandung City. Thus, an effective design is crucially required in order to fulfill this issue. To comply the necessity of the residence and trading place, Bumi Someah Apartments and Retail is designed in a strategic location and densely populated area in the city center of Bandung. In designing Bumi Someah Apartments and Retail in Bandung City, there are 2 main jobs that have to be accomplished, namely the design of retaining walls and foundation poles. This project is equipped with 2 basement floors with a height of 3.5 meters and 4 meters respectively with a total excavation of up to 9 meters, so a D-wall type diaphragm wall is required to prevent soil slippage during excavation and additionally strengthen the basement. The retaining wall has a thickness of 0.6 meters and uses a strut reinforcement system due to land limitations in the project. In this paper, the analysis of retaining walls will be assisted by the application "PLAXIS 2D" with Mohr-Coulomb soil models. For the foundation pile, the deep foundation type is used with the variety of bore pile or “tiang bor”. The bored pile foundation is determined by finding several parameters such as the carrying capacity of the pile used, both axially and laterally. The lateral carrying capacity of the pile is analyzed by employing the application "LPILE", after the carrying capacity of each single pole is obtained, then grouping or analyzing the pile groups is carried out using "GROUP" application, after the analysis is carried out, it is necessary to observe the land subsidence or settlement. Following an analysis of the retaining wall and the bored pile foundation, the design and reinforcement of each job can be implemented to become a unified lower structure in the Bumi Someah Apartment and Retail Project.
