<b>Abstract:<p align=\"justify\"><br /> The study on saltwater crocodiles (Crocodylus porosus Schneider) captive breeding at Blanakan village, Subang, West Java, was aimed to build an efficient and sustainable crocodiles captive breeding management model. The research was carried out between October 1998 and November 1999. The data were collected from field observation, interview, questionnaire, secondary data, and literature. The average of Blanakan crocodiles productivity captive breeding was 27 animals per year. Inefficient the Blanakan crocodiles captive breeding business showed by B/C ratio = -2,03 and inefficient production cost =26,16% /animal/year. The pens were sufficient but not optimally used. The people participation is low caused by the low awareness of crocodiles conservation. SWOT analysis on Blanakan captive breeding showed that inefficient management is the main weakness factor. Available opportunities (high skin demand) were ignored, so that some threat (F2 regulation, competition with other captive breeding more efficiently, bad visitor behavior) came up as the consequences. The model of efficient and sustainable management was required in a concept based on the development of. (1) Reproduction technology, (2) Standard Operation Procedure (SOP), and (3) Management system, human resources and marketing.
