With a total area of 661.5 square kilometers, DKI Jakarta occupies the first position in the province with the highest population density in Indonesia. This of course presents several problems, including overcapacity or the need for a large amount of space, with a constantly growing population but with a very limited amount of available land. Responding to this issue, currently the DKI Jakarta government is intensively developing public transportation. One of them is Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). With this, the government hopes that DKI Jakarta residents will start switching to public transportation. To support the development of MRT as public transportation, in the next few years, at each MRT station a Transit Oriented Development area will be built and developed. Transit Oriented Development can be defined as anything within a 1.5 km radius of a train station, including the train station itself, public facilities, intermodal facilities and residential areas. One of the MRT stations that has a relatively high traffic is the Lebak Bulus MRT station. The development of Transit Oriented Development in this area must include several functions, which are changing modes of transportation, and functions that accommodate Live-Play-Work activities. With this information in hand, there is a potential for designing a social HUB in the form of a mixed-use building that can accommodate the intermodal needs of MRT passengers as well as provide space for the surrounding community to use. text |

Indonesia is one of the most populous countries in the world. Currently, the population in
Indonesia reaches 273 million. Of the many Indonesian population, currently there are 10 million
people who live in DKI Jakarta. With a total area of 661.5 square kilometers, DKI Jakarta occupies the
first position in the province with the highest population density in Indonesia. This of course presents
several problems, including overcapacity or the need for a large amount of space, with a constantly
growing population but with a very limited amount of available land.
Responding to this issue, currently the DKI Jakarta government is intensively developing public
transportation. One of them is Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). With this, the government hopes that DKI
Jakarta residents will start switching to public transportation. To support the development of MRT as
public transportation, in the next few years, at each MRT station a Transit Oriented Development area
will be built and developed.
Transit Oriented Development can be defined as anything within a 1.5 km radius of a train station,
including the train station itself, public facilities, intermodal facilities and residential areas. One of the
MRT stations that has a relatively high traffic is the Lebak Bulus MRT station. The development of
Transit Oriented Development in this area must include several functions, which are changing modes
of transportation, and functions that accommodate Live-Play-Work activities. With this information in
hand, there is a potential for designing a social HUB in the form of a mixed-use building that can
accommodate the intermodal needs of MRT passengers as well as provide space for the surrounding
community to use. |
