From this condition, emerge the need for shopping to fulfill the basic needs and recreation for the people. One of these needs was met through the opening of the Cimahi Mall in 2007. Over time, the building quality is decreasing, which make people's interest to visit also decreased. Thus, redesigning Cimahi Mall into lifestyle center needs to be done with the consideration of commercial development and recreational character of nowadays society. This fictive project is located at Jalan Gandawijaya, Setiamanah, Center Cimahi, Cimahi, with a land area of 17.320 sqm. The main issues in this design are urban public space, transformation, and green building. From the existing issues, the design concept of "movement as a show, public space as a core" is applied. As for the main design strategy includes placing the public space as the central orientation of the building, providing unusual space functions to attract visitors, and implementing several green building values. The shape of the building is obtained from the influence of placing ellipse public open spaces and the provision of some opening area to expose the public space to the environment outside the site. The building structure uses a frame structure system with a flat roof, and in some special functions uses a wide span roof structure. The functions that will be presented in general are commercial functions and transfunctional functions. By considering the density of buildings in Cimahi, the lifestyle center building consists of 4 masses. All this mass consists of 3 main floors plus a rooftop and 1 semi-basement. With Building Coverage Ratio (BCR) of 80% or 13.856 sqm, Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of 2.8 or 48.496 sqm, and Green Area Ratio (GAR) of 20% or 3.464, this project has complied with existing regulations, namely having a total ground floor area of 10.064 sqm , total building area of 40.256 sqm, and total green of 3.664 sqm. text
