DESIGN OF OPERATION SCHEDULING SYSTEM ON JOB SHOP TYPE COMPONENT INSTALLATION WORKSTATION WITH AUTONOMOUS DISTRIBUTED MANUFACTURING SYSTEM (ADIMS) CONCEPT

Change in the pattern of manufacturing to High Variety Low Volume (HVLV) demand cause the scheduling process to be carried out continuously. In a job shop type component installation workstation, scheduling process becomes a complicated and time-consuming activity. This final project aims to design...

In a job shop type component installation workstation, scheduling process becomes a complicated and time-consuming activity. This final project aims to design an operation scheduling system with the concept of Autonomous Distributed Manufacturing System (ADiMS). The system design is in the form of a production element control unit module that can simplify and shorten the operation scheduling process. The system design focus on autonomous production elements that can independently distribute the workload. It can be achieved by combination of scheduling concepts, ADiMS, Configurable Virtual Workstations, MQTT, and databases. Autonomy is given to objects in the system, including product model, workstation model, coordinator object. The given autonomy is the ability to decide the best operation schedule when production planner input the scheduling order. The system test results in several scenarios indicate the success of the system in scheduling operations. In the short term, the system processes orders into a workstation operating schedule after the entry of the order code. The results are also sufficiently detailed to be applied to workstation. The operation scheduling system with the ADiMS concept has the potential to answer the problem of scheduling operations at the job shop type workstation. text
