The writer chose to research about the feasibility study of Fenton
process as a method for WWTP (wastewater treatment plant) as the first step to
solve the pollution problem of Citarum River.
The research was done through literature study from journals, books,
market, and practitions to receive theories, data, and designs. The optimum
conditions were taken from three journals: Liu & Li, Patil & Raut, dan Liu et
al.. Technical feasibility was researched through the amount of COD removal
that fulfills the standard, the optimum operational condition, the suitability
between the design & tools with literature, and the availability of ingredients
and tools. Economic feasibility was researched through minimum capital
expenditure (prices of land, constructions, and tools) and minimum operational
expenditure (prices of electricity and ingredients). The COD removal from
AOPs was 46.7-82% depending on the chosen optimum conditions. The
effective temperature was the room temperature and the most effective reaction
time was 30 minutes. The design and tools were researched from journals and
practitions. Ingredients and tools could be found in market or practitions. The
minimum capital expenditure was Rp 1.668.400.000 and the minimum
operational expenditure was Rp 1.894.189-2.666.314/day or Rp 6.314-8.888/m3
wastewater volume depending on the chosen optimum conditions.
The writer hopes that the literature study that has been done by the
writer can help the government, industries, society, and the reader.
