However, in the modern era, there are only a few people that know about Indonesia's maritime history, so a space is needed to enrich this knowledge. Important events for Indonesian history are deemed important for the public to know. The design of the Maritime Museum in Ancol is a great potential to be able to educate the public with the theme of the museum, namely recreation. The Maritime Museum is planned to become a magnificent new icon in the Ancol recreation complex in order to attract visitors. The selection of a right circulation and layout of the museum with the use of technology, building mass, and the landscape around the building is designed according to the recreational theme. At the beginning of the design, the building mass approach was taken to create a unique building form. The determination of the flow and space becomes an important role in interior design because it is the main point in the museum design. The landscape area on the border of the building is an opportunity to make it an exhibition area and outdoor rides to be an added value in this design. This design produces a dynamic shape with the shape of a building that uses the analogy of ships, ocean and marine life so that it creates an allusion to the person who sees this building at first impression. The arrangement of the digital exhibition displays is also combined with interesting rides so that visitors don't feel bored and want to visit them again. A linear circulation is also chosen so that visitors can experience all the exhibits and rides that this museum has to offer. The building landscape area becomes an extension of the exhibition inside the building, visitors can continue the exhibition and other outdoor facilities and the visitors will still feel impressed by the museum. text |
