This project discusses three main issues, namely comfort, mood/ambience, and topography. The basic concept of designing this project is healing environment, which is a physical environment that has a therapeutic effect. The concept of healing environment in outdoor space design is manifested by the form of sensory gardens, which are thematic gardens that can stimulate human senses. The composition of the building mass and site zoning refers to the contoured site conditions. The composition of the building mass on the site is made according to hierarchy, the lower the building, the smaller it is because the contour is getting steeper. Each mass is made organic by following the principle of coexistence with nature. The buildings on the site consist of reception facilities (FOH and restaurant), health facilities (spa center and yoga pavilion), and lodging facilities (hotels and villas). The structural system of the building uses concrete columns with a combination of bamboo structure and thatch as the material to cover the roof. The building envelope is made by utilizing natural elements such as sunlight, water, wind, and the addition of vegetation to the building. The designing process of this resort is expected to result in optimized potential health-based tourism in Ubud area. text |
