Osik Barikan Music Centre is a facility in which is functioned as a music activities centre, especially the art of orchestra. The art of orchestra became a primary focus in this project because a suitable orchestra performing facility doesn’t exist in Bandung city, therefore a new facility construction was needed all at once this project was meant to be relied as a national facility. Therefore as an art of orchestra’s centre, it should provides various facilities for various uses. Osik Barikan Music Centre doesn’t only provide the function of performance, but also for commercial, education, archive, and leisure. These four functions are realized into a ±35.000 m2-wide project. The project consists of a main auditorium builidng, a mini auditorium building, a building functioned as music school, library and music shop, and a music-themed landscapes. In the process of the project design, ideas which is translated into design were originated from various approaches, such as approach from issues and also site-context and aesthetic concepts. Issues which were faced by this project are acoustic, visual, circulation, and inclucivity. As an orchestra facility, it is important to pay attention for the accoustic n visual issues. Meanwhile, inclusivity as one of the issues was added to respond the contexts from site and surrounding environment, where this facility was expected to be able to be enjoyed and visited by various circles of the people (not just from music enthusiasts). This project was also implemented an organic design concept by the usage of flexibles music elements.
