Recalling the fact that deflection could measure the age of the bridge and how safe it is. In fact, 30.4% bridges in Indonesia are damages and in need of rapid troubleshooting The current troubleshooting and maintenance method to detect the deflection is through a traditional sensor (e.g. dial indicator and LVDT) that has been believed to be not effective due to its prerequisite of supporting material (electronic devices) and contacted installation. Digital image correlation (DIC) is one of the methods to detect bridge deflection through a camera and contactless installation without any supporting materials. It answers the question of simplicity and accuracy for deflection analysis. In the preliminary study, traditional sensor is still needed to compare the effectiveness of the DIC system. This research caters to two types of object to be analyzed, a bamboo bridge and an iron base for the bridge that will be loaded with three different masses: 80 kg, 95 kg, and 195 kg. These two objects will then be compared with the real deflection value from the dial indicator and the reference graph to determine the correctness of the result. This research disclosed a fact for both objects has an error below 5% with the maximum error of 1.82% and the maximum deflection happens when it was loaded with human and motorbike. This research also shows the development from the previous one, by increasing the resolution from 1 mm/px in 7 m to 0.56 mm/px in 7 m by altering the combination of the camera’s intrinsic parameters. text
