This disease is caused by excessive sebum activity and can be exacerbated by a bacterial infection. Nowadays, the use of natural ingredients for acne treatment is popular in society. In Indonesia, many traditional plants have not been explored of their potential as an antibacterial cause of acne or other bacteria that can worsen the condition of acne. This study discusses the antibacterial activity of onion bulb (Allium cepa L.), white lead tree (Leucaena leucocephala (Lamk.) De Wit), lemongrass stem (Cymbopogon citratus (D.C) Stapf), papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) and lemon peel (Citrus limon L.) to determine the antibacterial activity against bacteria that caused acne based on literature. Furthermore, each plant has been detected containing flavonoids, steroids, and triterpenoids compound, and made by ethanol extract using the maceration method. Google Scholar and Science Direct were used as search engines, using certain keywords in May 2020. In this review, 34 articles were used as a primary source. The results of the literature review showed that onion bulb is active at MIC 125 ?g/ml and MBC 250 ?g/ml. Papaya leaves are active in the range of MIC values of 53.8-1250 ?g/ml. Lemongrass stem is active in the range of MIC values 1-1220 ?g/ml and MBC 28-2440 ?g/ml. The white lead tree is active in the range of MIC values of 62.5-3000 ?g/ml and MBC 125-3000 ?g/ml. While the active lemon peel in the range of MIC values 6-25000 ?g/ml and KBM 6-50000 ?g/ml. Therefore, the onion bulb, white lead tree, lemongrass stem, papaya leaves, and lemon peel had the potency to be used as an alternative therapy for anti-acne treatment. With the best potential shown by lemongrass stem. text
