Many hydrocarbons and hydrothermal compounds are stored in the reservoir but are difficult to obtain. To be able to do fluid extraction in the reservoir, various methods are carried out by the oil and gas industry. Among these is by making way for fluid flow by cracking which can be obtained by blowing up various reservoir points. Based on the development of the industry, this study wanted to find out crack patterns that can form in porous rocks by applying pressure. In general, rock consists of solids and void space in the form of pores, fissures, cracks, joints, and others that make rocks influenced by material and discontinuity. Discontinuity is found in rock mass so that it affects the overall mechanical behavior (strength, elastic modulus, and Poisson ratio) of the rock mass. In this final project, a Uniaxial Compressive Strength (UCS) compressive test is carried out on igneous and sedimentary rocks to analyze the correlation between the elastic properties of the sample and the crack characteristics of the sample. The digital image-based characterization method will be applied to the sample with the help of a Micro-CT scan device. The results of the scan will be in the form of digital images which can then be processed and analyzed to obtain the required physical quantities. Thin section analysis is also performed to strengthen the analysis of rock pore structures. Quantitatively it is said that there is a relationship between the microscopic structure, which is related to the elastic properties of the sample with crack properties. Structure thickness with compressive strength and Young's modulus shows the greater the compressive strength and Young's modulus the greater the structure of the thickness. Connectivity with compressive strength and Young's modulus shows the greater the compressive strength and Young's modulus the smaller the value of Connectivity. Connectivity density with compressive strength and Young's modulus shows that the greater the compressive strength and Young's modulus the smaller the value of connectivity density. text
