Description
Summary:Single use plastic bags have been a key part in our daily life, escpecially in Indonesia. But, the overuse of plastic may pollute the environment and a hazard towards marine life. It is predicted that in 2050 there are more plastics than fishes in the ocean. Plastic is one of the recent cause of the population decline in coral reefs. This issue is very important, thus fashion can be one of the outlet to give awareness about the dangers of plastics towards coral reefs. Plastic bag wastes will be applied to fashion products using the fusing and embroidery technique. The final end product of this research will be a collection of fashion products that uses plastic bag wastes as an applique shaped coral reefs. This aims to be a new alternative idea to reuse plastic bags and to apply it in fashion, rather than as a number one solution towards plastic waste management, but a new choice to utilize plastic waste.
