Summary:Regional potential can be seen in local and socio-cultural wisdom. Along with the advancement of the development of the arts in Malang area, there are still problems regarding cultural identity to represent Malang’s identity. One of them can be seen in batik. Batik in Malang is one of many ways to increase the potential local wisdom. The inspiration of batik development can be influenced by the surrounding environment in Malang for example flora that grow around Malang like Lotus Flower. The Lotus flower has become an icon in Malang because of its association with history, tradition, and many of these flowers grow around the Malangan monument. The development of Lotus Flower Batik Motifs in this research is carried out to help enrich the local wisdom motifs of Malang, and the development is focused on the uses of batik and embroidery techniques. The surface textile design used by considers the potential of UKMs in Malang as well as an effort to increase the value of craft and textile. The method used in this research is qualitative data by observation and interviews to find the most appropriate potential to be developed. The results of the motif development are applied to fashion products in couture semi-formal clothes and scarves, so this development can help local people to increase the value of Malangan culture itself
