Summary: | Weather parameters data such as temperature, relative humidity, and solar radiation
are needed in human life. These data are used in education, agriculture, transportation,
economics, and air conditioning design. However, the availability of weather data in
Indonesia is limited and difficult for many people to access. Meanwhile, the instruments used
to collect weather parameters or commonly known as weather station are relatively
expensive. This study aims to develop an online device prototype that can collect data for air
conditioning design at a lower price.
Development of online device prototype consist of appropriate sensor selection,
sensor calibration, sensor and microcontroller integration, microcontroller and Wi-Fi
network integration, microcontroller and database integration. A final test will be carried out
to see the functionality of the prototype in measuring the weather parameters, send it to the
database, and the data can be accessed by other devices.
The prototype developed in this study has a temperature sensor with an uncertainty
of ±1.62°C with a relative error of 5.50%, a relative humidity sensor with an uncertainty of
±4.4 %RH with a relative error of 8.0%, and a solar radiation sensor with an uncertainty of
±16.4 W/m2 with a relative error of 9.26%. The uncertainty level of this prototype is slightly
above the uncertainty of the other instruments in the market. Nevertheless, the prototype was
successfully developed at a cost of IDR314,399.00 and the price is much cheaper than other
instruments available in the market.
