Delays in project completion can be caused by various factors, one of the causes of project delays can be due to poor project management.In implementing new product development projects, PT INTI has not yet implemented a monitoring system with a systematic method. The monitoring system for product development projects has not implemented a specific monitoring method such as the S curve or the Earned Value or Earned Schedule methods and there are no fixed indicators or factors as a measurement basis for reporting progress or project status. The monitoring system that has been carried out so far is in the form of a weekly meeting and filling out product scorecard which cannot assess project progress and estimate project completion. Therefore, this research aims to design a monitoring system for a new product development project. The monitoring system is designed using a dashboard so that monitoring can be carried out more effectively and efficiently. In this research The design of the monitoring system using dashboard was done by first identifying the needs of The Product Development Project Team for monitoring, determining the KPIs to be measured for monitoring, identifying the data the team has and collecting so far, then selecting KPIs to be measured for monitoring, then selecting the visualization of these KPIs and building an information system to realize the dashboard, and the last stage is determining other data that needs to be on the dashboard to provide more information to the user. Based on the design carried out, there are six needs from The Product Development Project Team swants to be fulfilled, of which 14 KPIs are selected. Then the dashboard prototype was designed using Microsoft Excel Macro VBA. In the monitoring dashboard that was designed, earned value management (EVM) and earned schedule (ES) was used to meet the needs of The Product Development Project Team for monitoring. text |
