Summary: | Indonesia is one of the largest archipelagic country in the world consisting of 17.491 islands and its water consist of territorial sea, archipelagic wates and inlad waters dominate up to two thirds of Indonesia total area. Therefore, connectivity has an important role in the Indonesian economy development. To fulfill the connectivity needs requires ferry facilitis that can be implanted through the construction of a port in Pariaman, Sumatra Barat. Pariaman Ferry Port is designed to be the connector between Pariaman and its surroundigs with Kep. Mentawai.
Demand forecasting determined for 40 years after the construction of ferry port finished. Demand forecasting predicted using multilinear regression analysis method with independent variable such as population, Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at 2010 constant price, the number of tourist in Pariaman, and the amount of fish producted in Kep. Mentawai. The result of demand forecasting for 2042, there are 2 trips per day with 334 passengers/day and 58 vehicles/day that cross between Pariaman and Kep. Mentawai.
A ferry port, as an intermodal infrastructure should be able to facilitate movement need of passangers, vehicle and vessels. Passenger and vehicle needs are facilitated by land side port which includes passenger terminal, parking area and other supporting facilities. The passenger terminal is designe to be able to facilitate the needs of passenger. A parking area is needed to facilitate vehicles that will cross, drop and pick
up passengers. The design of the parking area includes the overall layout, entry and exit gates, as well as marks and signs.
The design of overall land side layout is simulated in a micro-simulation using VISSIM to determine a port layout which is capable to facilitate the vehicle movement. The result of ferry port layout analysis show that the first alternative will be used which prioritize the movementof shuttle vehicle, so that the circulation within the ferry port area is effective.
