This vehicle is produced on assembly line seventh which is a mixed-model assembly line at NVDC Karawang which also produces Yaris TRD and Vios G. Based on historical data on Toyota Logistics System (TLS), during the last five months assembly line seventh has never met production, with an average target fulfillment of 86%. Based on the analysis conducted, the root cause of this problem is the absence of a standardized method of determining operator requirements. The purpose of this research is to determine the heuristic models to determine operator needs so that they can meet production targets. In this study, there are 2 models proposed, namely the analytic model and the heuristic model. The analytical model used has the objective of minimizing the number of operators by considering the start time of the operation. The computation is done using the CPLEX Optimization Studio 12.9.0 application. The Heuritic model was developed to accommodate the search for problematic solutions in the analytic model. The heuristic model consists of several steps that represent all mathematical equations in the analytic model. The solution produced by the heuristic model is the allocation of operators and operations along with start and finish times. The heuristic model results in allocating operations on assembly line seventh for a tact time of 8 minutes. The resulting solution reduces the number of operators from 18 to 17, and reduces the number of work-stations from 7 to 6. This reduction was also supported by increasing the operator's average utility from 81% to 87%. text |
