Description
Summary:Dopamine is a neurotransmitter and hormone that plays an important role in the human body. Irregular dopamine regulation will lead to the formation of several diseases such as Parkinson's, schizophrenia, and some cancers. Therefore we need a method to detect dopamine which is fast and cheap. One method that is often used is electrochemical detection using certain materials for the electrodes. The material that is currently popular is graphene oxide. Graphene oxide is a derivative of graphene with surface defects. These defects can help the graphene oxide to be more easily composited with other materials such as metal oxides. Metal oxides are often used because they have good catalytic properties for electrochemical sensor applications, especially biosensors. Graphene oxide can form composites with metal oxides so that it has good catalytic properties and also has a large specific surface area suitable for electrochemical sensor applications. GO-TiO2, GO-NiO, and GO-CuO composites will be synthesized using hydrothermal method utilizing teflon-lined autoclave and tested in this study, especially for GO-TiO2 and GO-NiO composites that have good performance with LOD of 0.76 ?M and 0.36 ?M respectively.
