Summary:Wheatgrass or its Latin name Tricum aestivum is a plant that contains antioxidants. Wheatgrass can be cultivated as a commodity microgreens by using a red and blue light lighting system. Cultivating plants with red light intake can increase biomass, phenolic content and activation of the antioxidant system. Meanwhile, the intake of blue light can increase chlorophyll synthesis, phenolic content, and vitamin C content. To achieve maximum results, a combination of the two lights can be given. However, the ratio used must be chosen carefully, because improper blue light can reduce the quality and quantity of plants. The quality and intensity of light obtained will directly affect the growth and chemical composition of plants, so that these factors can be modified to obtain the desired composition for certain applications. This study aims to determine the best treatment for biomass and antioxidant content. The combination of red and blue light affects the plant growth rate, fresh weight, and chlorophyll content in wheat grass. Based on the LSD test on fresh weight, the control treatment was significantly different from treatment A (91% red + 9% blue) and B (83% red + 17% blue). In terms of antioxidant parameters, treatment B (83 red + 17% blue) gave the highest levels of antioxidants compared to treatment A (91% red + 9% blue), C (47% red + 53% blue), D (35% red + 65 % blue) and Control. Then based on the LSD test has the same effect.
