Summary: | Compensation system is a system that regulates the amount of wages given to employees in return for their willingness to work. The ideal compensation system will fulfill the objectives of providing s to employees, namely efficiency, fairness, compliance, and ethics. Startup X is a startup fintech that was founded in 2018 in Bandung. The compensation system that is currently used is not ideal. The evidenced from the results of an interview with the People and Culture Manager stated that there was no clear basis for calculating employee wages. As a result, there is an injustice in the amount of wages between levels of positions. There are also aspirations from employees regarding the amount of wages that are not competitive compared to other startups. Therefore, it is necessary to redesign the Startup X compensation system in order to meet the objectives of providing compensation. The proposed compensation system design is based on the 3P concept (Pay for Person, Pay for Position, and Pay for Performance). This concept regulates the provision of a basic salary by taking into account class positions, years of service, and education. In addition, this concept also regulates the granting of a position allowance based on the job load from the results of job evaluation and the provision of performance allowances based on employee performance scores. This concept was chosen because it takes into account the provision of salaries by respecting the workload of the position assigned to employees. The redesign of the proposed compensation system has achieved efficiency with the presence of a base salary table; achieved fairness from considering position, years of service, and education as well as comparison with the salary survey; comply with the legal compliance and salary proportion; and comply with ethics by taking into account the conditions of the workload delegated to employees. The achievement of this goal is also in line with the company's finances, which need to spend around Rp. 6 billion per year according to the budget provided. |
