Description
Summary:Batik is an Indonesian culture from a long time ago. Batik from each region has its characteristics. Decorative elements, colors, and meaning in it make batik as a world cultural heritage. Batik Cimahi is one of West Java batik which has special characteristics with five basic motifs including the Ciawitali motif, Kujang motif, Cirendeu motif, Cimahi Curug motif, and Pusdik motif. Cimahi batik is reduced demand and production that requires funds. The emergence of an awareness of back to nature in the world of batik, especially the use of natural dyes is an indication that shows the awareness of those who are involved in the development of the batik industry (Alamsyah, 2018). Contribution of Cimahi batik very minimal to the development of natural dyes. The use of natural dyes from guava leaves on Cimahi batik has never been done. It is necessary to experiment with natural dyes of guava leaves as batik dyes. The process of experimenting with natural dyes of guava leaves can produce a new batik Cimahi.
