Description
Summary:PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) is one of the companies engaged in the aircraft industry with the market share of Indonesia and southeast Asia that is wholly owned by the state so that it belongs to the company of state-owned enterprises. One of the most desirable products is NC-212i aircraft. Currently, PT DI has not been able to fulfill the demand of NC-212i for 1 year which keeps PT DI continuously experiencing delays in shipping products to consumers. The actual time of the assembly process of NC-212i by the Final Assembly Line (FAL) Division is 80 Days, while the production target of 6 aircraft per year requires ideal assembly time for 40 days. After searching the root cause of the problem, it is known that PT DI has done assembly line balancing by converting 6 workstations into 3 workstations. However, PT DI has not conducted operator assignments for the refurbished cross-assembly draft. It is also known that operator assignments in the cross-assembling NC-212i aircraft are not yet good because the operator is not assigned to work on a specific operation but only by order from the team leader. This research is intended to determine the model and design of the assignment of the operator of the work station 1 in the cross assembly of the good NC-212i aircraft so that the production target can be fulfilled while minimizing the number of operator needs. The solution search process is done using two types of heuristic algorithms. The purpose of the model used is to minimize the number of operator needs at work station 1. The resulting solution is the operator's assignment schedule for each operation shown in a gantt chart. The number of operator needs required to work on the entire operation at workstation 1 is 32 operator with the operator's average utilities of 81.7%. This solution makes the production target accomplished and the recording of operations by each operator becomes structured.
