Description
Summary:Culture is the result of the taste and work of humans as social creatures. Culture is very much influenced by geographic location and other cultural influences related to everyday social life. One of the results of this culture is traditional cloth and its decorations. The Siak Tenun is a cloth made of calico and gold thread originating from Riau, Indonesia. Publication of the Siak Woven Fabric is quite minimal among the general public. By applying the Siak woven fabric motif to fashion products, it is hoped that this will be an opportunity to introduce this motif to be used in ready-to-wear clothing. The research was conducted by interviewing one of the legend weaver in Riau. The processing of the Riau Siak woven fabric motifs is carried out using surface design techniques such as embroidery, applique, and laser cut.
