Summary:PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) is one of the companies belongs to Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) that moves into aircraft industry. CN-295 airplane is one of primary products from PT DI. In the production process of it, this airplace has three main processes, those are detailed part manufacturing (DPM), component assembly (CA), and final assembly line (FAL). From those three divisions, CA is the divison with the highest actual cycle time, that is four months. It makes the requirement to produce four airplanes each year can not be achieved. Assembling of rear fuselage becomes the reason of the high actual cycle time. PT DI has implemented panelization system in order to increase production capacity so it can accomplish the desired cycle time, that is three months. Nonetheless, the actual condition has not able to prove which work method that is used capable to produce desired number. This research aims to design new work method for assembling of rear fuselage so it can achieve desired cycle time and assign worker team for doing work operations. Assignment for operation processed considers the workload balance. The workload is total time of operations assigned for a worker team. The proposed work method is assembling together from frame 25-30 and frame 46-31 and also moving partial of operation from jig 3 to jig 2. The mathematic model that is used to look for the assignment of worker team in this proposed work method is mixed integer linear programming with objective function to minimize workload balance between worker team. The result from computation process proved that actual cycle time in proposed work method is 985.6 hours or 2.8 months. The workload balance between worker team is 15.383 hours. There are three teams with the compositions consist of 3 assembly operator level 3, 3 assembly operator level 2, 3 sealers, and 3 painters. Meanwhile in current condition, there are three teams with the compositions consist of 2 assembly operator level 3, 4 assembly operator level 2, 3 sealers, and 3 painters.
