INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/50479 The Assisted Natural Regeneration is a method of rehabilitation with human assistance that takes into account the natural regeneration of a plant species around the forest. This method could improve the effectiveness and management of rehabilitation efforts. The research analysis proportion and distribution mechanism of S. wallichi and S. macrophylla seedlings in the Forest Area With Special Purposes (KHDTK) Mount Geulis aims to see the potential for regeneration and the effect of parent trees existence and topographical conditions around the standing area to the distribution pattern of species seedlings. The application of the Assisted Natural Regeneration method will be appropriate if it is supported by an understanding of the sources of regeneration that exist in the Geulis mountain forest. Observation plots of S. wallichi and S. macrophylla stands with 10 mx 10 m subplots to store the number of seedlings and 20 m x 20 m subplots to count the number of mother trees. Transect lines are made outside the stands to serve the ability of seedling to spread away from the stands. The results showed the distirubtion frequency of Puspa at the seedling and sapling levels is 0,78 and 0,83, with densities of 5.513 individuals / hectares and 1.200 individuals / hectares. Mahoni at the seedling and sapling levels with a distribution frequency of 1 and 0,33 with densities of 8.650 individuals / hectares and 67 individuals / hectares. Puspa and Mahoni seedling can spread away 10 m beyond the stands. The highest number of Puspa tillers at the seedling level was found around the mother tree and on steeper land conditions. Mahoni seedlings are also commonly found on steeper land conditions, but the number of mother trees does not really affect the number of seedlings grown. At the sapling level, both Mahoni and Puspa were more commonly found around the mother tree but with more sloping conditions around the stands. The morisita index shows Puspa and Mahoni seedling have a clustered distribution pattern in nature. text
