Elementary school students in Indonesia only get 53-80% of learning subjects that discuss about environment, especially the topic of water and sanitation. In 2017, Barusari 1 and Barusari 4 Primary School, Garut District implements sanitation and hygiene education in the form of water, sanitation, and hygiene school development through the "Green School" program. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the "Green School" program on improving the conditions of sanitation infrastructure and the practice of clean and healthy living behavior as well as the influencing factors that caused the effect. The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental two-group research. The methodology for analysis is a mixed research method with the type of qualitative method is semi-structured in-depth interview and quantitative method is questionnaire test with non-parametric statistical analysis (Wilxocon and Mann-Whitney Test). The independent variable in the study is the "Green School" program and the dependent variable is adjusted according to the factors that influence hygiene behavior in "Theory Preceed-Proceed by Lawrence Green" called predisposing factors (knowledge, attitudes, and practices), enabling factors (facilities, facilities) and reinforcement factor (school support). The results showed the positive effect given by the "Green School" program on the condition of school sanitation facilities, and student hygiene behaviour. The results of the qualitative analysis stated that the variable supporting school facilities found an increase from the indicator of "limited services" to "basic services" for water, toilet, solid waste and hand washing facilities in Barusari 1 and Barusari 4 Primary School. The results of quantitative analysis on the variables of knowledge, attitudes, and practices of hygiene behaviour students found differences in the value of knowledge, attitudes, and practices of hygiene behaviour on respondents who received intervention and did not get intervention, it can be concluded that there was iv an influence on the implementation of interventions in the form of "Green School" program at Barusari 1 and Barusari 4 Primary School towards students' knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to student hygiene behaviour The benefit of this research is knowing the success of the program and as a recommendation that the "Green School" program can be developed in locations with similar criteria. text
