| Summary: | Bandung Zoo is one of the animal tourism’s center in Bandung City. Apart from animals, Bandung Zoo offered various other facilities such as Education Corner space, which function as animal information center. This space is at the center of the aviary section, which location is very strategic yet still lacked of activities. Adding attractiveness value could be a way to optimize the functionality of the space. The photo spot facility is currently a popular tourist attraction. People as the subject of photography in digital era liked to share instagramable photos on social media. This phenomenon has made several places intentionally set up a photo spot with aesthetic value. Tourist attractions were built with various methods and creations to create innovation on instagramable spots, one of which is experimenting with materials of the photo backgrounds. Textile is a material that is commonly known but had not been much explored as the material for photo spot. This study aimed to produce soft sculpture installations as photo spots using textile materials with sewing, crochet and embroidery techniques. Inspired by Indonesian endemic birds’ visual, this installation was intended to add attractiveness of Education Corner space to increase its functionality. |
