<b>Abstract :</b><p align=\"justify\"> <br /> The concurrent data from January to March 2001 of use of the parenteral medications and intravenous admixtures at surgery wards of RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin had been studied. This study consist of literatures study and field observations concerning inappropriateness of injection technique and rate of injection; inappropriateness of the use of parenteral medications included doses, use duplications, antagonistic combinations, and drug interactions; and evaluation of intravenous admixtures system. The results showed that the inappropriateness of injection technique 3.58%, and rate of injection 90.65%; inappropriateness of the use of parenteral medication included doses 17.14%, use duplications 0.93%, antagonistic combinations 0.78% and drug inter-actions 17.91%. The evaluation of intravenous admixtures system showed that only 16.91% fulfilled the criteria.
