However, the high rate of soybean consumption has not been balanced by a high production rate. This problem encourages Indonesia to import 2.67 million tons of soybeans in 2019. The productivity of soybean in Indonesia is very low which are 1.5 tons/ha compared to 2.5 tons/ha, the world productivity of soybean. This low productivity is caused by the environmental incompatibility of soybean plants especially yellow soybean to climate conditions in Indonesia because soybean is not a tropical plant. Nevertheless, Detam-1 black soybean is the first large-grain black soybean and less photosensitive, so it is more suitable for the climate in Indonesia. The superiority of the Detam-1 variety is high productivity by 2.51 ton/ha and high protein content which is 45% of the dry weight. The use of the Detam-1 variety is expected to increase soybean production in Indonesia and diversify processed food products of the black soybean. The study was conducted in Tanjungsari Village, Sumedang Regency, West Java using a cultivation technique by a recommendation from the Indonesian Legumes and Tuber Crops Research Institute. It aims to quantify the growth rate of soybean plants which includes the plant height, number of leaves, dry weight of shoots and root, number of pods, pod weight, and number of soybean seeds of Detam-1 variety and also, to quantify the chlorophyll content in each growth phase of Detam-1 soybean variety. Based on the observations of the vegetatif phase, the growth rate of plant height, number of leaves, dry weight of root, dry weight of shoots are respectively 6.96 cm/week, 4 leaves/week, 0.02 grams/week, and 0.74 grams/week. Subsequently, in the phase of flowering and pod formation, the growth rate of plant height, number of leaves, dry weight of root, dry weight of shoots, number of pods and pods weight are respectively 9.85 cm/week, 7.2 strands/week, 0.43 grams/week, 4.02 grams/week, 70 pods/week, and 13.8 grams/week. On the other hand, in the seed filling and ripening phase, the growth rate of plant height, number of leaves, dry weight of root, dry weight of shoots, and number of seeds were respectively -10.25 cm/week, 7.5 strands/week, -0.31 grams/week, -5.04 grams/week, and 68.67 items/week. The total growth rate of chlorophyll content in the vegetatif; flowering and pod formation; and seed filling and ripening phases were respectively 3.14, 1.98, and -4.58 mg/L/week. text
