Summary: | The development of deepwater offshore fields is known to have high costs, and in some cases it is a challenge in
the economics of the project especially the development of marginal deepwater fields. One way to reduce
development costs is to use production facilities that are in the development field sector and have oil and gas
production processing capabilities that are still operating. By transferring part of the production processing
process to an existing facility, the scope of the production facility to be built can be simplified by utilizing the
capabilities of the existing facility to process production from the newly developed field.
In this study there were two scenarios in the "X" field that were simulated in seven years (T1 to T7). The first
scenario is the scenario of field development by building its own facilities and the second scenario is the scenario
of field development using facility sharing. Then, the two scenarios are evaluated by the Gross Split scheme, in
accordance with applicable law, to calculate the economics of the project carried out both in terms of the
government and the contractor.
Based on this study, the percentage increase in government NPV in scenario 2 for scenario 1 was 61.94% and the
contractor NPV increase in scenario 2 for scenario 1 was 540.05%. There was a significant percentage increase
by implementing facility sharing development. The best field development scenario is scenario 2, where field
development uses facility sharing. |
