Nowadays, the type of motorcycle that is much loved is scooter motorcycle because of its relatively easier and practical use. However, the growing number of motorcycles has led to a higher human reliance on fossil fuels. In fact, burning fossil fuels has a negative impact on the environment due to exhaust emissions from motor vehicles themselves. Therefore, alternative fuels are needed to be able to solve the problem. Mixing gasoline with ethanol and methanol is one of the ways that is expected to overcome the problem of exhaust emissions from motor vehicles. Ethanol is expensive and usually sourced from staple foods making many people want to switch to methanol which tends to be cheaper. However, methanol can undergo phase separation when mixed with gasoline so that it needs additional solvents/ cosolvents so that methanol can be mixed well. The cosolvent used in this case is ethanol. In this study, testing of achievements and emissions with different mixtures using the ECE15 cycle was conducted. The result is an increase in fuel consumption as the concentration of alcohol in fuel increases. As for CO exhaust emissions, HC, NOx decreased by 29.5%, 37% and 39.46% compared to pure gasoline. Meanwhile CO2 emmisions rose by 4.02%. The results of the assessment have been obtained that the best fuel is A10 type fuel. text |
