The water needs of Garut Regency residents are currently met by PDAM Tirta Intan Garut with service coverage reaching 33.87% in 2018 (BPPSPAM, 2019). Therefore, a WTP with a capacity of 100 liters per second will be built in Pamulihan with raw water coming from Cibulakan Springs. The WTP is planned to serve two sub-districts, namely Cisurupan and Bayongbong. The total population in the service area in 2030 is based on projections using a linear regression method of 237 thousand inhabitants with a total water requirement of 416 liters per second. The planning area of WTP is 1,200 m2 in forest land with an area of 34,706 m2 located 800 m northeast of the spring. Based on the results of the analysis of water quality at the Water Quality Laboratory of Environmental Engineering ITB that turbidity, BOD, and COD do not meet the drinking water quality standards of Minister of Health Regulation No. 492/2010. Alternative selection methods for processing configurations using Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) and system configurations chosen were pipe intake with screening, slow sand filter with down flow direction, disinfection with calcium hypochlorite, and surface reservoir. text |
