INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/50740 The development of technology and information greatly influenced our lifestyle, including in textiles and fashion. Interactive fashion products can provide an experience for users so that it becomes a special value. Smart materials such as leuco dye based thermochromic has provided a lot of new innovations for design development in both terms of function and aesthetics. In this regard, in Indonesia, there is still a lack of variation and exploration of thermochromic materials in fashion products, especially activewear. Thermochromic pigments has the ability to show color changes with temperature difference stimuli, making them attractive to be applied to fashion products. The combination between the visual illusion and the application of thermochromic pigments can expose the uniqueness of each other aesthetically because the activated color changes of thermochromic can reveal different color combinations. The screen printing technique was used in this study in order to show a combination of thermochromic color compositions into varied and explorative patterns. The development of fashion goes hand in hand with advances in technology and information also impacted on the blending of various aspects of expression, for example, fashion activewear products which are clothes that are comfortable to wear for exercise but also a form of self expression which is a function of fashion. The selection of activewear products for the application of thermochromic materials is motivated by the relation between human’s activities and changes in temperature of human body and the environment, so that the final product is an interactive fashion product that has functional and aesthetic values and showing that smart materials, especially thermochromic has many potentials to develop. text
