STUDI PUSTAKA EFIKASI DAN KEAMANAN BINAHONG (ANREDERA CORDIFOLIA (TEN.) STEENIS) DAN TEMPUYUNG (SONCHUS ARVENSIS L.)

Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) and Tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis L.) are two plants that used as traditional medication. This study is a literature review and based on inclusion criteria there are 34 journal researches of binahong and 25 journal researches of tempuyung that will be further analyzed in this study. Based on analysis, binahong contains compound such as flavonoid, alkaloid, and steroid/triterpenoid, while tempuyung contains compound such as flavonol, flavonol glycoside, monoacyl galactosilglycerol, sesquiterpene lactone, and quinic acid. Binahong was proved to have pharmacological properties such as antioxidant, antihypetension, antibacterial, improvement of chronic kidney disease, antidiabetes, antidyslipidemia, cytotoxic, wound healing, antiobesity, antivirus, xanthine oxidase inhibitor, gastroprotective, and analgesic. And based on toxicology evaluation?binahong was safe in single or multiple uses?then binahong didn?t cause teratogenic effect on rat. Until now, there is no clinical study about Binahong. Tempuyung was proved to have pharmacological properties such as antioxidant, antiurolithic, antihypertension, xanthine oxidase inhibitor, antihyperuricemia, cardioprotective, antiinflammation, anticancer, improvement of acute kidney injury, hepatoprotective, and antidysentry. Based on clinical studies, tempuyung which is include in formula of saintifikasi jamu was proved to have antihiperuricemia and antihypercholesterolemia. And based on toxicology evaluation, tempuyung was safe in single use and multiple uses?then also didn?t cause teratogenic effect on rat.
