Description
Summary:The microfluidic system is an analyte detection system that utilizes a small sample size on the microliter order but still produces accurate readings. The nature of the fabric which is porous and can absorb liquid is the advantage of the fabric material to become a platform for the microfluidic system. In this final project research, performance of cotton cloth as a microfluidic platform were studied. The experiments focused on the natural ability of the cotton cloth to absorb and pass the liquid passively. The research was conducted by observing the travel time of the liquid flowing on the cotton cloth and the ratio of the hue value in the mixing process of the liquid in the cotton cloth. From the research results, it was found that cotton cloth can absorb and flow liquid at a certain rate. Liquid mixing can also be carried out on cotton without requiring external force. This can be considered as an advantage for colorimetric-based measuring platforms using cotton cloth.
