Description
Summary:A sustainable company should at least have achieved success in three aspects: profit, people, planet. Sirkel.id as an IT consultant based in Bandung, Indonesia, have a goal to become a sustainable company. In their third year of operation, Sirkel.id have a problem associated with their profit. In 2019, even with 369.5% revenue growth, Sirkel.id only have 6.4% net profit. This issue has not been explored yet, and the real cause of the issue still need to be revealed. Applied systems thinking is one of the methods to uncover the real cause of an issue. Systems thinking contains of seven triplets that covers analysis, synthesis, and inquiry. In this case, the systems thinking applied by conducting systemigram, causal loop diagram, and RACI Matrix. The result showed that the prioritized solution based on intervention points and multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) using Pugh Matrix is to create developer acceptance criteria and payment standard. The selected solution detailed further by combination of three aspects: source of developers, team building system, and payment strategy. The source of developers divided into three scenario: pure internal developer system, pure external developer system, and combination of internal and external developer system. Team building system used is a typical IT company recruitment process including identification of needs, choosing channels, formation of candidates list, selection, and final assessment. The payment strategy divided into two main strategy: hourly based and salary based. All the aspects combined with sourcing strategy as the base, resulting in three alternative detailed solutions. The most suitable solution then picked using the same MCDM, Pugh Matrix. The chosen solution to be implemented is combination of both internal and external developers. The implementation strategy of the solution focused on the existing condition of Sirkel.id. The first concern in implementation is about organizational structure change. The new organizational structure contains changes in managerial structure as well as addition of new employees. The matrix structure of the company also changed. The next concern is about the capital cost to start implementing the solution. The calculated capital cost resulted in the conclusion that the solution can be applied by the end of 2020 or the start of 2021. The last concern is about pandemic. The right strategy should be applied during pandemic. The strategy is about cost and company operations. The future work from this research can be applied by using the same method or even the same recommendation from the current systems thinking result.
