Description
Summary:Abstract :
How to achieve spectral sharing between Micro-Cellular Wide-Band DS-CDMA PCN (Personal Communication Network) overlaid on the Terrestrial Digital FSM (Fixed Service Microwave) is investigated. There are two directions of interference have to be anticipated, i. e. interference from the overlaid CDMA on FSM and interference from FSM to CDMA.

Power control for both reverse link and forward link used in CDMA is investigated as a method for reducing performance degradation. Meanwhile FSM is assumed as a not modified existing system. The performance evaluation is supported on analytical calculation and simulation. In the first step, performance degradation of both systems is evaluated when spectral shared without power control. In the second step, evaluation to spectral shared condition is repeated after using CDMA power control on both reverse link and forward link

This research results several dimension boundaries of parameters for each CDMA System and FSM System giving feasibility to be coexisted according each allowed tolerable performance of system degradation because of each other interference. On the FSM System side, the height of its antenna and the distance of its antenna tower from CDMA service area are the main factor allowing coexistence feasibility or not. Then on the CDMA System side, the number of simultaneously active users in the forward link and in the reverse link will measure feasibility mainly. In the same jamming intensity by FSM System, the reverse link CDMA System performance degradation will be more severe compared by the forward link But the forward band CDMA signal will more strongly degrade the FSM System performance then the reverse band CDMA signal.
