Summary: | Wheel Drive Electronic (WDE) is a Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor
control module attached to a reaction wheel. Meanwhile, the reaction wheel is an
actuator used by spacecraft for attitude control towards the three axes. In module
development such as WDE, implementation is carried out in stages at various
levels, starting from simulation, prototyping using PCBs, to the final product
wrapped in a casing. In each of these levels, verification is necessary in the form of
measurements to see whether WDE is ready to be implemented at the next level.
The need for verification of this measurement involves measuring various physical
quantities in certain repetitions so as to meet certain confidence interval
requirements. This measurement will certainly require more time and attention
from researchers if it is done manually. This final project report discusses the
design and implementation of automatic data acquisition software at WDE so that
the measurement process can take place faster and does not require much attention
from the researcher who does it. The acquisition software is implemented on a
computer (PC) running the Windows 10 operating system. Some of the features of
this software are an automatic acquisition system, a file management system,
plotting, and some basic analysis functions. The data acquisition software was
tested using WDE which is specially made for testing purposes and an ARM-based
microcontroller as data acquisition hardware. The data collected in the test include
motor speed, stator current, power consumption, WDE driver temperature, and
EMF back signal. The final result is that measurements performed automatically
using data acquisition software can accelerate up to 2.8 times faster than manual
measurements. |
