Summary:RiverSense is a water velocity measuring early-warning system (EWS) device that can be used on rivers to present real-time water velocity data. RiverSense is equipped with a Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM)-based wireless communication module, energy harvesting mechanism utilizing solar panel, and power management settings. To simplify equipment integration, a custom PCB was manufactured. The test results of the wireless communication, energy harvesting, and power management subsystems show that the device can meet the specified requirements and capable of running with internal power supply for at least one year.
